Fluidized Bed Applications

Fluid bed dipping process

Secoa Metal Finishing is a national leader in fluidized bed dipping for the application of suitable powders. Fluidized bed dipping involves the use of a bed filled with powder that is fluidized through the use of compressed air. Parts are pre-heated to a specific temperature, carefully dipped in the fluidized bed, and fully coated with the powder. It is a fast and efficient way to coat complex parts such as water valves that require full encapsulation with a relatively thick coating. The dipping process allows the coating to flow into all of the complex nooks and crannies of a part, giving it full uniform coverage.

Nylon Powder Coating

Nylon powder is our most popular coating applied via the fluidized bed method. Complex parts such as water meters, that require a highly wear resistant coating both inside and out are easy work for nylon powder. Secoa Metal Finishing has been a licensed applicator of Arkema’s Rilsan nylon 11 material for over 25 years. Rilsan is the world’s leading brand of nylon 11 powder. Epoxy Powder Coating

Epoxy powder is an excellent, cost-effective, corrosion coating for construction infrastructure, transportation infrastructure, and water infrastructure that lends itself well to the fluidized bed method of application.

Thermoplastic Powder Coating

Thermoplastic powder is a super-premium, durable, high-build coating for wire goods such as dishwasher baskets, and other parts where exposure to water and other corrosive materials requires such protection. It also has superior UV protection that makes it an excellent choice for outdoor parts such as park benches and playground equipment.
